Somehow one of the Ts avoids the 2D issue that you mentioned. I suspect problem with video adapter hardware as Vista won’t recognize either.
You have to get rid of it manually by way of removing the faulty ati driver and graohics re-installing the broken driver, and then resetting the ati and intel drivers manually. I had to go into the BIOS setup and disable integrated graphics and set the primary grpahics adapter to Discrete.

Unfortunately, I don’t see Windows 7 drivers up on Lenovo’s downloads for your model.
Although most the benchmarks produce roughly the same results across different versions of Windows the 2D tests are known to vary ,enovo as Microsoft keeps tweaking the underlying framework behind the Windows user interface.
